
At the Twin Cities Red Cross, we work with heroes in our community every day. The Heroes Breakfast is a chance for us to honor those who have made the simple, yet powerful decision to put their personal needs aside in order to help others.
Heroes Award Categories & 2010 Winners
CITIZEN HERO- Presented to an individual who showed concern and actively works to improve the safety and well-being of others.
2010 Award Winner: Gayle Christensen
COMMUNITY HERO - Presented to an individual who displayed leadership and commitment to his or her community by making a positive and significant impact.
2010 Award Winner: Vince Muehe
DISASTER RELIEF HERO - Presented to an individual who exhibited heroic efforts in response to a disaster.
2010 Award Winner: Tzviatko Chiderov
EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE HERO- Presented to an individual who, during a crisis, provided medical assistance including CPR and/or first aid to a person in need.
2010 Award Winner: Mao Vang
FIRE FIGHTER HERO- Presented to a fire fighter who, in performing his or her job, acted above and beyond the call of duty.

GIVE LIFE HERO- Presented to an individual whose commitment to blood and platelet donation played a significant role in ensuring the health of patients in our communities and throughout the country.
2010 Award Winner: Don Klein
GOOD SAMARITAN HERO- Presented to an outstanding individual who displayed courage and caring upon encountering an unusual, significant or unexpected incident.
2010 Award Winner: Richard (Ross) Ridenour
LAW ENFORCEMENT HERO- Presented to a law enforcement officer who, in performing his or her job, acted above and beyond the call of duty.
2010 Award Winners: Michael Honeycutt & George Warzinik
MILITARY HERO- Presented to an active, reserve or retired member of the Armed Forces or ROTC who acted above and beyond the call of duty.

YOUTH GOOD SAMARITAN (Under 21) - Presented to an outstanding young person who displayed courage and caring upon encountering an unusual, significant or unexpected incident.
